Backstory

With 18 years of AI/SAAS and online media experience under his belt, Ohad is a seasoned business builder and operator in both large corporation and startup environments. An MIT graduate, Ohad created Google’s Channel Partnership organization (GCPP) from the ground up and then joined Google's AI partner Ezoic as a VP of Business Organization, leading the Machine Learning startup to a $33M series A.

In 2021 Ohad co-founded Kahoona with the aspirations of bridging the gap between user privacy and audience data. Raised $4.5M seed round from GFC, Plug and Play and Cardumen Capital and sold the company as part of a buyout in 2023. Today, Ohad is an LP at NuFund Venture Group and a TechStars mentor.

He lives in Encinitas, CA, with his wife and two children and loves anything and everything outdoors, specifically snowboarding, Kayaking and camping.

Behind the Scenes

What types of companies do you find most interesting?

I'm drawn to companies led by founders who deeply understand the nuts and bolts of their industry and can translate a bold, disruptive vision into focused short-term execution. That rare mix of domain expertise and pragmatic action is where I see the greatest potential for breakout success.

What do you think surprises founders most when they start companies?

How difficult it is to get a product to market. The zero-to-one phase requires rapid testing with tight feedback loops.

Which mentor has influenced your work the most?

My time at Google shaped me profoundly and while not working with her directly, Kim Scott Malone, author of "Radical Candor" helped with defining some of my core leadership qualities.

Five things you couldn't live without?

Family and friends above all, meaningful work, curiosity and hitting the slopes with my snowboard.

What is your favorite book?

Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind is one of my favorite books - It captures the arc of human evolution with the clarity and storytelling that every founder should master.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

Don’t optimize for the short-term win - Optimize for the people you want in your corner (and in your life) ten years from now.
