Backstory
Kasra Davar’s passion for finance began in high school, where he founded the first investment club, bringing together over 10 students for collaborative learning. Their success was recognized in a school publication, and the group also managed a small business venture alongside the club.
In college, Kasra continued to excel academically and pursued new entrepreneurial ventures. He launched another investment club and established a simulated hedge fund focusing on risk parity strategies and growth investing. This initiative earned him and his team an invitation to the New York Stock Exchange. Their achievements were also highlighted in the Houston Chronicle.
Kasra worked as a Prop Firm Trader across several funds, where he managed over $200,000 in capital. He employed a risk parity portfolio structure and implemented a mean-reversion trading strategy across multiple asset classes, capitalizing on short-term price discrepancies. He conducted multi-variable regression analysis and assessed risk and profitability using pivot points, moving averages, and standard deviations.
Later, Kasra interned at a private equity firm in New York, where he gained valuable insights into the industry. He continues to track market trends and publishes articles on Medium to expand his knowledge and share insights with others in finance.
